ALCEDOTUNER.COM is a personal website of an individual, the Owner. The Owner makes it available at no charge, for serving personal research interests.

ALCEDOTUNER.COM is a personal website, still it respects your privacy.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data to provide the service you registered for, to protect against abuse, and for research purposes. By using ALCEDOTUNER.COM, you agree to the use of your anonymized data in research publications as described in the terms of service.

We need your data to run the service and do our research. You agree to this by using the site.

How Your Data is Used

As the data subject may decide freely whether to use the service, the data and information required for the use of such service are freely given.

To access certain parts of the services of ALCEDOTUNER.COM, registration is required. During registration, ALCEDOTUNER.COM requests the following data to be provided, and processes such data:

While using ALCEDOTUNER.COM to formulate a tuning problem or using ALCEDOTUNER.COM to add tuning iterations manually on the web interface, or automatically through the alcedotuner python/Octave client package (connected through the unique API key you received from ALCEDOTUNER.COM), the following data about you and your tuning experiments are stored at ALCEDOTUNER.COM.

  • IP address of your browsing session and IP address of your alcedotuner client: we use it to protect the service against abuse.
  • tuning parameters, key performance indicators, metadata, your problem formulation, your chats with our artificial intelligence (AI) agent: we use it to provide the service on tuning, and potentially for carrying out and publishing research about methods for automated tuning. In research publications, we will never link the data to any information that can be used to identify you (such as your name or e-mail address).

You can delete all of the personal data ALCEDOTUNER.COM collects from you by navigating to the account settings (clicking on "Welcome <your name>" after logging in) and choosing "Delete My Account". Note that this deletes your personal data from our database immediately, however, your personal data might still be retained in our backups and will finally be erased from those within 12 months from the account deletion.

When you choose to visit our website, data such as the IP address (the internet protocol address of your computer), the date, the visited sites and other technical data are logged as well. All this happens on an anonymous basis, therefore such data may not be linked with you, neither now nor in the future. We do not analyse data, they serve exclusively statistical purposes. After the statistical analysis – which we use to ascertain how many visitors we have and how we may ensure the appropriately prompt functioning of our sites – we erase the data.

We use only the data provided by you and listed hereat. During the use of the system, further data are generated, but these may not be linked with you afterwards. We need these so that our system may be used more conveniently, and that we can publish our research.

Method and Duration of Data Management

Data management is carried out by the Owner on servers he leases. In addition, data may be temporarily stored on the Owner's other computers as well.

  • The duration of management of the data of registered users lasts from the user registration until the deletion of the registration. Exception from this is if any of your data has been used (in anonymized form) in a research publication. Once data is truly anonymized, it no longer constitutes personal data under GDPR, meaning deletion rights no longer apply to it. Such anonymized data may be retained indefinitely as part of the published research record.
  • The duration of the processing of visitor data lasts until the log files are processed, the latter being stored for up to a year.

We store personal data in an information technology (IT) system, and only until necessary, that is for the duration of the registration. Personal data are not printed or disclosed to anybody, neither orally nor through other means.

If you do not wish to continue to use our services, you may delete your registration at any time, and thus also your data shared with us. But if we have published our research with your data in it, that stays. See also the terms of service about you granting us rights on using your content for research and education.

In order to avoid the unauthorized use of the processed personal data and related misuse, the Owner applies extensive technical and operational security measures. These security processes are regularly reviewed and developed in line with technological advancement.

To ensure the protection of data, we maintain a system and control mechanism of appropriate security standards.

Access to Own Data

The data subject may access at any time and without limitation his/her personal data through the Login function of the website, where all data may be accessed, modified and erased. Should this function not be available for any reason, please contact the Owner in writing at [click to reveal email].

You have the right to enquire at any time regarding your data we store. You may do this most conveniently in the system at the data sheet pertaining to your registration, but may also request, through any other means, that we informed you about your data we store.

Data Transfer, Further Recipients

In order to provide seamless operation of the services offered by the ALCEDOTUNER.COM website, we use Virtual Private Servers hosted by Digital Ocean, LLC, which means that your personal data is transferred to their systems. The Data Processing Agreement (available at: https://www.digitalocean.com/legal/data-processing-agreement) between the Owner and Digital Ocean, LLC controls this data transfer. The VPS that hosts APP.ALCEDOTUNER.COM resides inside the European Union (EU).

In order to provide seamless webhosting of ALCEDOTUNER.COM and APP.ALCEDOTUNER.COM, we use the platform of Cloudflare, Inc., which means that your personal data is transferred to their systems in the USA. The Data Processing Agreement (available at: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/) controls this data transfer.

In order to provide seamless operation of the chat services offered by the ALCEDOTUNER.COM website, we use Large Language Models (LLMs) hosted by Anthropic PBC, which means that your personal data is transferred to their systems in the USA. The Data Processing Agreement (available at: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/data-processing-addendum) controls this data transfer.

All international data transfers to the above providers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in accordance with GDPR requirements.

We transfer your data to our hosting providers and LLM providers. They may transfer it to the USA for their operations.

Automated Decision-Making

Our system does not automatically create a profile based on the visitor data of the data subject.

We do not create a profile of our visitors and make the system behave differently based on the profile.

Cookies

ALCEDOTUNER.COM uses cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the service, such as keeping you logged in during your session. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics purposes.
